It’s A Long-Term Relationship, Not A One-Night Stand.

Consistency is a critical factor to achieving the best outcomes in life, and this principle certainly applies to your relationship with your cosmetic physician. When you find a doctor that you trust and are comfortable with, it is highly recommended that you stick with them.  We develop a plan for our patients, to help them achieve their best outcomes for the long-run.  Often, this plan involves neuromodulator injections 3-4 times per year, and maintenance with fillers, Sculptra, and perhaps surgical rejuvenation.  We get to know the patients and their faces, and the relationship is very personal.  By having such a long-term relationship with our patients, we can help them to achieve the best outcomes, consistently, year after year.

Here are just a couple of reasons why changing your provider frequently is not recommended:

1. Inconsistent results.

It is natural to have different opinions on what looks good or bad. You should find an aesthetic provider who shares your same vision, and who has the skills to achieve those outcomes.  Keep in mind that all procedures have the potential to need some adjusting, and it is not uncommon to need to make a minor correction after any procedure, even routine Botox.  The majority of the time, if an undesirable outcome occurs, your skilled injector should be able to adjust it to your satisfaction, particularly if you have had good outcomes with that person in the past.  If you keep changing your provider, there will be a lack of consistency in your treatment, and inconsistent outcomes.

2.  Price-shopping can lead to less than optimal outcomes.

Who doesn’t love a bargain?  Going to a warehouse for items such as toilet paper will rarely go wrong.  However, when it comes to your body, you should take utmost care to make sure the procedures are being done safely, by a board-certified physician, and with FDA-approved products, under sterile conditions.  We cannot emphasize enough that these medical procedures must be done with knowledgeable providers using the correct techniques, in order to keep the patient safe and the outcomes optimal.  Disastrous outcomes, including infection, blindness, and even death have occurred when patients shop for the lowest prices, rather than for the most reputable provider.  It’s your body – treat it like a temple.

So, to sum it up, finding a plastic surgeon that you trust and are comfortable with is crucial when it comes to cosmetic procedures. Stick with the same physician to avoid risks, high costs, and a lack of satisfaction. And always remember, consistency and quality are the keys to successful long-term outcomes!
